The RINIWA League is an annual themed event that is usually run in two stages: a provincial group stage which takes place in local clubs and games are played once a month during the spring/summer, a finals stage that is usually played on one day between the winners of the group stages.
The league originates in a DBM ladder that David Taylor has run in Belfast since at least 1998. However it gradually moved to an all-island format and was re-branded as a RINIWA event. Several formats have been tried: ladder, knock-out tournament, double-knock-out tournament, round robin group stages and swiss group stages.
