Cost: 10 euro for RINWA members or overseas players (12 for non-members)

Format:

  • Armies are a maximum of 400AP and must be drawn from your RINIWA League 2010 list
  • There will be 2 rounds

    • DGG 100AP Campaign Night to Celebrate Launch of DBMM v2

    To launch DBMM V2 in the DGG club we played a 100AP mini-campaign on the Wed 11th
    August club night using the campaign system published (on DBMMlist?) a while back. There was a
    Habsburg/Valois Wars theme (1494AD-1515AD) to exploit the extension of the lists
    to 1515.

    We supplied a pretty wide range of W.European armies for people to choose from,
    ending up with two teams as follows:

    French Ordonnance (Tony Farrell), Ottoman Turks (Brian Ronayne), Anglo-Irish
    (Rob Brennan) and Late Swiss (Alan Condron, making his DBMM debut)
    V
    WotR English - Henry VIII (Mike Whelan), Late Hungarians (Dave Lederer),
    Medieval German - Territorial states (Jan Van Embden) and Italian Condotta -
    Florentines (Me).

    So more of a Tudor/Valois war really. We used preset terrain boards of variable

    Strongbows Shield 2010 Results

    Introduction: 

    We had 2 DBMM v2 competitions in Dublin on the 31st of July (3 games each). This was DBMM v2's worldwide premier as a competition set. It was also the 10th year of Strongbow's Shield as an event - so we must be doing something right! To celebrate this we had a bring and buy in support of RINIWA - this was ably run by Mick Hessian who at one point commented that it might take us another 10 years to accumulate so much stuff for sale!

    I umpired. and despite many players only receiving the rules within the last 2 weeks we had very few rules issues - a good sign!
    Everyone felt that v2 was a big improvement and no-one was bemoaning the lack of v1 (fairly unusual for wargamers ....:-)

    note that by default that link only shows high reliability (C or above) rankings.
    To see all the rankings you change the drop-down list "Only show ratings with reliability above:" to "all" then all players with a Glicko rating will appear.

    DBMM version 2 confirmed as the rules for Strongbow's Shield 2010

    DBMM v2 is now shipping and so we will use it at Strongbow's Shield 2010.

    This is post-free to the UK, ignore any warnings about stock levels as they are 20 mins from the warehouse.
    It is supposed to be 10% postage (min £2.50) to ROI ...but that charge did not appear on my initial order
    and I'll have to see if they contact me subsequently.
